Coinciding with the Frankfurt Book Fair’s topical choice of
“Today’s India” as its theme for 2006, the Imago Group is proud
to announce the opening of its own Indian office on 9th
October 2006.
Publishers
struggling to compete for hard earned profits in today’s
fiercely competitive national and international markets can no
longer afford to ignore the low production costs and many other
opportunities on offer within India’s booming economy. Yet, the
many reports of patchy communications, poor quality goods, late
delivery and an overall lack of control combine to form a
powerful disincentive to serious but risk-averse print buyers.
Many have learned the hard way - that working in India without
adequate safeguards and controls can present challenges and
dangers that can totally wipe out any expected economic gain.
Imago’s expansion into India
aims to give publishers the support and confidence they need to
place work in India and enable them to tap into the many
advantages and opportunities this thriving economy offers, but
without the accompanying pain.
Imago is the leading
international book and print production services company and
links businesses around the world with the best sources of
supply for their products.
Imago India closes the one major gap in the broad international
supply base on which the business is built.
With over 25 years experience
of raising supplier’s standards, Imago’s tried and tested
modus operandi is to place Imago-trained people on the
ground - at one level to oversee and progress chase individual
jobs through production and at another to guide and inform the
factory’s processes and systems to improve standards.
Imago’s team for India is headed by Ajay Manocha
(formerly export sales manager for the UK market for Thomson
Press) who has over 10 years experience supplying print
production from India to Western markets. Ajay combines his
extensive knowledge of the dynamics of each plant and his
understanding of the customer’s exacting quality and service
requirements, with his skill in coaxing the sharpest pricing
from Imago’s Indian printing partners without the need for
protracted negotiation.
Located in Delhi and in close proximity to
many of the region’s key manufacturers, Imago India works
closely with suppliers who have a proven ability to satisfy all
the criteria required to meet the expectations of the
international publishing market.
Ajay Manocha will be at our stand at Frankfurt this year,
